Documentary - Noisey Jamaica
Die von Snoop Lion produzierte Web Doku "Noisey Jamaica" beleuchtet die jamaikanische Dancehall Kultur und ihre Protagonisten. In der 10 teiligen Serie werden eine Reihe von Künstlern und Personen aus der jamaikanischen Dancehall Szene wie Beenie Man, Dre Skull, Shabba Ranks, Vybz Kartel, Popcaan, Tommy Lee, Tifa, Spice und vielen anderen porträtiert. Die ersten Ausgabe widmet sich Vybz Kartel, einem der wohl zur Zeit einflussreichsten und auch umstrittensten Dancehall Künstlern und seiner GAZA Crew. Die zweite Folge dreht sich um den Vybz Zögling Popcaan, der nach der Festnahme von Vybz Kartel weiterhin die GAZA Community in der Dancehall für relevant gehalten hat. Neben einem gutem Überblick über die aktuelle Dancehall Kultur bieten die ersten beide Folgen auch einen Einblick in viele weiter Bereiche und das Leben in Jamaika. Die wöchentlich auf Noisey erscheinende Serie könnte sollte somit auch für Outsider interessant sein die sich nicht für Reggae und Danchall interessieren. Wir werden alle 10 Folgen im Post auf der Haupseite sammeln.

In the first episode host Codine Williams goes to Gaza (Jamaica) to meet Vybz Kartel's crew and get a people's perspective on the controversial dancehall icon. In the second episode they meet Vybz protégé Popcaan and get a glimpse into Jamaican club culture and fashion. The episodes will be released weekly at Noisey, but we will collect all ten episodes in this post.
